Black Lives Matter 2020

In 2020, 897 people have been killed by police. 28% of them were Black, despite only making up 13% of the US population. 98.3% of killings by police from 2013-2020 have not resulted in officers being charged with a crime. Black civilians are 3x more likely to be killed by police than their White counterparts. 8 of the largest city police departments kill Black men at higher rates than the US murder rate. This is 2020. This is why we say Their Names. These are peoples’ families. These are peoples’ loved ones. We demand change. Their lives matter.
